Tell LEF: Reverse the wage cuts now!

In September 2024, the Learning Enrichment Foundation (LEF) cut workers’ wages by $2.32 at 25 child care centres across Toronto. In October 2024, LEF wrote to parents saying they should be able to reverse the cuts once the sector’s new funding formula came into effect. The new funding model is here, but workers and parents are still waiting for action.

We know that decent wages and working conditions for child care workers are the foundation of quality care for our kids. We are calling on LEF to reverse the wage cuts, so that we can all work together – parents, workers and operators – to secure adequate funding for child care and ensure those caring for our children have decent wages.
