Tell LEF: No wage cuts for child care workers!

On September 1, the Learning Enrichment Foundation (LEF) cut child care workers’ wages by $2/hour. In the middle of an affordability crisis, this is devastating for child care workers and their families. We need to show our support for child care workers!

We know this cut will jeopardize quality of care for kids and undermine staff retention. The workers that care for our children are the heart of the 24 LEF child care centres across Toronto. Decent wages and working conditions are not optional extras.

Already sent your email? Follow-up with a phone call! You can call LEF at (416) 769-0830. If you are a parent, let them know which centre your kids go to and why you are concerned about the wage cut.

It is outrageous to make child care workers bear the brunt of underfunding! We are calling on LEF to reverse the wage cuts, so that we can all work together – parents, workers and operators – to secure adequate funding for child care and ensure those caring for our children have decent wages.

Together, we can show child care workers the respect and support they deserve!
