Let’s turn the Holiday Season into SOLIDARITY Season!

December 06, 2024

Join us this Tuesday at 7:00 pm to make Holiday Season SOLIDARITY Season!

At this meeting, we'll be organizing with:

  • Striking postal workers fighting for good jobs in our communities,
  • Amazon workers organizing to make all delivery work decent work;
  • Restaurant workers saying no to wage theft; and
  • Child care workers and parents joining forces to win affordable, accessible child care for everyone.

Will you be there on Tuesday, December 10 at 7:00 pm? RSVP below and we'll send you the Zoom link for the meeting.

The postal workers’ fight is our fight!

All of us deserve equal pay and equal benefits for equal work. Nobody should be paid less for doing the same job just because they're hired as part-time, contract or temporary workers. We all deserve wages that pay the bills and keep a roof over our heads.

That's exactly why postal workers are organizing to stop Canada Post from increasing the number of part-time, low-wage jobs in their workplace and for wages that keep up with rising prices.

And if postal workers win, it will make it easier for the rest of us to demandand winlegislation that protects all of us.

Here's how you can support postal workers:

Support injured & ill workers

Premier Doug Ford and Labour Minister David Piccini are transferring $2 billion from injured workers to corporations. This so-called WSIB "surplus" was built by denying injured and ill workers decent income for years.

Studies show that 1 in 5 injured workers are living in extreme poverty. But rather than provide proper support to injured workers, Ford and Piccini are giving more handouts to corporations. It's time they make sure the most basic needs of injured and ill workers are met before lining the pockets of their corporate friends.

On December 9, join injured workers to say enough is enough. There are rallies in
Thunder Bay, Windsor and Toronto! For more information, visit Injured Workers Online

Organize between meetings

There are thousands of decent work fighters like you in our Justice for Workers network. But to turn our network into a powerful force, we need your help to check-in with each other, share news, and swap stories about what we can do together to take on bad bosses.

Would you like to help us with phone banking? Let us know by replying to this email, or join the J4W “Phenomenal Phoners” WhatsApp group here.

You can also help amplify our posts on social media. Corporations have money to spend on advertising and promoting posts on different platforms, but we depend on you to help us spread the word. To be part of the “J4W Social Media Squad” WhatsApp group, click here.
