CANCELED! EMERGENCY PHONE ACTION Support TTC workers!
Toronto
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
This event is CANCELED!
We are pleased to announce that the anticipated strike has been postponed due to the successful negotiation of a framework agreement between the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 113 and TTC management.
Â
This Action will be held online using Zoom.Â
Did you know that Rick Leary, CEO of the TTC, has enjoyed salary increases that have soared from $361,338 in 2020 to $562,326 last year -- a staggering 56% increase in just 3 years! Meanwhile, he and the TTC board are refusing to offer wage increases to workers that even keep up with cost of living increase over the past decade. Â
Meanwhile, TTC management is preparing to reduce bus service available for the public as a product of integration with other municipalities, where transit has already been privatized. TTC workers, the 12,000 members of Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 113 are standing up for public transit, for the preservation of routes and services, and for good jobs in our communities, now and for the next generation.Â
Join us on Friday, June 7 at 12:00 noon for this Emergency Phone Zap where we will demand TTC management guarantees service, improves staffing and offers TTC workers fair wages and job security. We’ll be in and out in 30 minutes. Here’s how it works:Â
- We join a meeting by ZoomÂ
- We review the names of the people we will be calling & share talking points
- We’ll make our calls together
- We’ll have a quick debrief and plan next stepsÂ
