Workers and Indigenous peoples have a common enemy.
Federal Bill C-5, called the ‘One Canadian Economy Act’ allows mining and construction projects to bypass regulations that protect workers, Indigenous communities, and the environment.
Bill 5, called ‘Protecting Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act,’ allows the creation of ‘special economic zones’ that exempt industries from provincial laws and regulations.
Both Bills give government sweeping powers to:
• Override labour protections
• Disregard Indigenous treaty rights
• Ignore environmental safeguards
• Shut communities out of decisions that directly impact their lives.

We Must Stand Together
Canada was founded on the genocide of Indigenous peoples. This genocide continues with illegal seizure of Native lands, industrial poisoning of areas like Grassy Narrows, medical separation of Indigenous families, and disproportionate incarceration and killings by police.
Canada was also founded on the exploitation of workers who were brought here to build railroads, farm land, and fell trees to make fortunes for the Canadian business class. This exploitation continues with poverty wages, life-destroying working conditions, and repressive laws that prohibit workers from striking back in self-defense.
Join us to discuss how workers and Indigenous people can support each other from Canada to Palestine.
