In the 1960s, Black workers formed a sizeable minority of workers in the sprawling Detroit auto industry. Enraged by brutal working conditions, racist discrimination, and systemic police violence, they brought Black Power politics into their workplace.

The inspiring story of the Black Revolutionary Union Movement and The League for Revolutionary Black Workers raises questions that remain unanswered:
• How can Black and White workers overcome racist divisions and pull together for mutual benefit?
• How should revolutionary workers relate to unions that focus on preserving past gains instead of pushing for more?
