Public support for labor unions is very strong. Unionized workers enjoy higher pay, better benefits, more job security, fewer workplace injuries and deaths, and more legal protections. Communities with more unions enjoy higher standards of living and reduced social inequality.
Nevertheless, the portion of workers in unions continues to fall, and pay and working conditions continue to deteriorate for union and non-union workers alike. Why is this happening? How can unions regain their power to advance workersβ demands?
