Understanding & Defeating Capitalism

OPIRG Disorientation Week Workshop:

A recent CBS/YouGov poll found that only 9 percent of people under age 30 have a "very positive" view of capitalism, and 41percent of them have a “very negative” or “somewhat negative” view of capitalism.

To end capitalism, we must understand what it is, what keeps it going, and what is its greatest weakness. Three presentations will address these questions and offer a way forward:

• Capitalism - A Global System of Legalized Theft
• The Myth of Scarcity
• From General Strike to Seizing Power

Each presentation is only 15 minutes long, leaving lots of time for discussion. Bring your thoughts, your questions, and your longing for a different world.
