Movie: WALKOUT

In 1968, thousands of Chicano high-school students in Los Angeles walked out to protest underfunded, rundown schools where they were treated with contempt, punished for speaking Spanish, and discouraged from learning about their culture.

As the walkouts spread, their community mobilized to support them. When key organizers were arrested, thousands demonstrated for their release and organized sit-ins until their demands were met.
