Solidarity BBQ for Bank of Canada workers!

42 workers at the Bank of Canada Ottawa office and seven workers at the Montreal office have been walking a picket line for more than 40 days after the Bank locked out the workers in Montreal. These workers are members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada and are only asking for fairness. Bank of Canada Governor Tiff Macklem earns in the neighbourhood of half a million dollars every year. Despite being reprimanded twice by the Canada Industrial Relations Board for breaking the law that forbids the use of replacement workers, Macklem has approved the use of replacement workers while these PSAC members have been forced onto a picket line. Given that the Bank of Canada last year generated almost $4 billion in gross revenue, it should surely be able to prioritize decent wages for its workers.
