Paint your Pumpkin Purple! Halloween solidarity action
Ontario
12:00 am - 11:59 pm
Paint your pumpkin purple to show your support for education workers!
OR, if you're handing out goodies on Halloween, consider sharing these scary leaflets with parents about about the crisis in public education. (If you're in the Greater Toronto Area, you can pick up leaflets between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm outside Suite 223, 720 Spadina Avenue in Toronto, south the Spadina TTC station).
Education workers are fighting for student success and good jobs. That means:
- better cleaning and maintenance;
- more staff so every worker can do their job with the care and attention students deserve; and
- decent wages and working conditions so nobody has to juggle multiple jobs to pay the bills.
The Ontario government has the resources to implement these basic - and necessary - improvements. And if these workers win this fight it will it build everyone's confidence to keep fighting for a $20 minimum wage and decent work for all.
This Halloween, please paint your pumpkin -- or your province -- purple! Snap a photo and post it to social media using the hashtag: #ISupportEducationWorkers #39KisNOTenough #Justice4Workers, tag us @FairWagesNow or email them to [email protected].
And please also join us on Wednesday, November 2 at 7:00 pm, for an emergency phone action where we will join forces to call our Members of Provincial Parliament to let them know Ontario supports education workers. Click here to learn more and to RSVP.
