UniversalCare has recently issued layoff notices to seven frontline staff at Regency Park Long-Term Care Home in Windsor. Despite facing staffing shortages like many other long-term care homes in Ontario, UniversalCare has chosen to lay off essential workers, including dietary aides, personal support workers, and nurses, citing 'budget issues'. Notably, many of these workers have dedicated decades of service to the facility.
This decision comes at a time when Regency Park is set to undergo a significant expansion, promising a brighter future for senior care in Windsor. However, the recent layoffs raise concerns about the facility's commitment to its staff and the seniors they care for.
Join us at the emergency solidarity rally to support the LTC workers of Regency Park. Let's come together to advocate for the rights of those who tirelessly care for our community's elderly and ensure they are treated with the respect and dignity they deserve.
