Selwyn Community Child Care Centre workers are fighting for fair wages and paid sick days. Join us at this community postering event to show your support for CUPE 2484 and demand a fair contract for these workers.
Background
Child care workers at Selwyn are struggling to make ends meet. The low pay of just over $18/hour has resulted in high turnover and stressful workplace conditions. Despite a 100% strike vote, the employer has yet to take the workers' demands seriously. The lowest-paid permanent workers at Selwyn make $18.33/hour, and the highest-paid make $21.76/hour. These wages are simply not enough to make a living in Toronto.
In addition to fair pay, workers are also fighting for paid sick days. No one should have to choose between their health and their job. It's time to stand up for Selwyn Child Care Workers and show them that they are not alone in their struggle.
On March 15th, workers, parents, and community members will come together to fight for decent work. We need your support to ensure Selwyn Community Child Care Centre can't ignore these workers' demands. Let's send a strong message that we stand with these workers in their difficult bargaining fight. Don't miss this important event!
