Organizing Meeting
Toronto

Workers' Action Centre, Community Organizing Space
720 Spadina Ave
Toronto, ON M5S2T9

Things are heating up in the fight for decent work since our last organizing meeting back in June.
Right now, 3,700 Metro workers are on the picket lines, fighting for better wages, decent hours, and job security. A win for them paves the way for all of us demanding better working conditions. It's clear: when they win, we all win.
But the battle doesn't stop there.
While the strike carries on, we're simultaneously amplifying our voice for another pressing cause: status for all. On September 17, a day before the federal Parliament is back in session, the Migrant Rights Network is calling for a Canada-wide Day of Action to demand permanent resident status for all. While Prime Minister Justin Trudeau continues to drag his feet on the regularization program he promised, migrant workers face exploitation and abuse daily, because they don't have equal rights.
That's why this next organizing meeting is so important.
Join us and let's:
- Plan solidarity actions for the Metro workers' strike
- Build our local contingents for the September 17 Status for All Day of Action
- Hear report backs from other Justice for Workers' actions and make plans to hit the streets before Labour Day
Doors will open at 5:30 pm, grab a refreshment, and settle in. The main meeting begins at 6:00 pm.
