The global capitalist crisis is spawning a rise of fascist movements around the world. Canada’s government is moving rapidly to the right, criminalizing peaceful protest and attacking workers, immigrants, and gender rebels. Swastika graffiti have appeared in Guelph, a city where 24 percent of residents were born outside of Canada and 20 percent identify as part of a racialized group.
This meeting will address:
• What is Fascism?
• The History of Fascism in Canada
• Fighting Fascism: What Have We Learned?
We are also offering this meeting again at the OPIRG Symposium, "Fighting Fascism Then and Now," Sunday February 8, from 11 am to 12:30 pm at the University of Guelph, University Centre, Room 442.
